Number 10 Policy Unit

The Number 10 Policy Unit was a body of political advisors and policy-makers in 10 Downing Street in the British government, until, as part of the fusion between the Cabinet Office and Number 10 after the General Election in 2001 it was merged with the Number 10 Private Office to form the Number 10 Policy Directorate[1]. Its most famous head was Andrew (now Lord) Adonis[2], before being enobled and made a Minister; others members have included Sir Michael Barber[1], Dr. Ros Altmann[3], and Geoff Mulgan[2].
