From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nuke-Con is a not-for-profit organization, formed in 1990 in Omaha, Nebraska, dedicated to promoting the positive social, educational, and entertainment aspects in all types of gaming hobbies through their game days and annual convention.

[edit] Convention and Game Days

Traditionally held the first weekend in October, Nuke-con's annual convention features a spectrum of games, from table-top and live-action role playing to board, card, miniatures and computer games. Dealer tables are positioned around the edges of the main gaming room, with other events, such as an anime/SciFi room, being located in the hotel. Nuke-con actively promotes a family-friendly environment with age-appropriate games and activities for younger children. Recent guests have included game designer James Earnest and artist Aaron Williams. Perennial guest-artist emeritus is Fredd Gorham.

Game Days are held periodically throughout the year and frequently emphasize a particular type of game. More information about current events and volunteer opportunities may be found at the "Fallout Shelter", Nukecon's on-line registration portal.

Nuke-Con is governed by a board of 7 volunteer members and is registered with the State of Nebraska as a Corporation.

Nuke-Con's events, game days, and annual gaming convention are managed by an all volunteer staff.
