[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Presbyterian Hospital of Denton Logo.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Presbyterian Hospital of Denton Logo.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] C.H. Collins Athletic Complex
The original reason I was considering nominating this article for deletion is that it's a detailed description of the complex, but doesn't assert WP:NOTE:notability. After looking at it again, I don't think it's necessary to take that step. However, I could see someone else doing it. Besides asserting notability, here are a couple of things you could do that would give this article a better chance of surviving:
- Cite your sources. There may be very little about this facility online, but since the article contains measurements and numbers, you must have gotten them from somewhere. Even if that place is a local newspaper or a pamphlet or book put out by the school district, it's better than nothing.
- Write an introductory paragrapy that briefly explains who uses this facility, and for what. Right now, only the infobox indicates that this stadium is used by high school, as well as where it is. Maybe something like, "The C.H. Collins Athletic Complex is a multi-sport stadium and training facility in Denton, Texas. It is used by Billy Ryan, Denton, and John H. Guyer High Schools. The 12,000 seat facility opened in 2003, and is operated by the Denton Independent School District." There. I just did it for you.
- Only include what's significant or unique about the facility. A person looking to host a game at the facility might be interested in the number of bus space, the setup of the bathrooms and locker rooms, and storage capacity, but someone consulting an encyclopedia probably isn't. And finally, if you cut all the information that isn't significant or unique and find that you have a much smaller article:
- Consider merging this content into Denton Independent School District, where it would be in no danger of being deleted. Within the context of the district, this complex is certainly important. Outside of it, it's debatable.
Thanks for asking what my reasoning was, and I hope this helps. I'll put this page on my watchlist, so if you'd like to respond, please do it here. That way we can keep the conversation in one place.--Djrobgordon 01:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
