2007 marks the tenth year of the NSW HSC Online website
NSW HSC Online, a collaborative partnership between the NSW Department of Education and Training and Charles Sturt University, has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 1997. It now has resources for 48 subjects (including 9 VET curriculum frameworks) covering 76 courses. NSW HSC Online is supported by the Office of the Board of Studies and the Professional Teachers’ Council.
The NSW HSC Online website has been designed to reflect the needs of its highly focused users, HSC students and teachers.
The resources on the website focus predominantly on the more challenging aspects of the HSC courses and complement classroom learning. Materials include sound and video files, speaking and listening tasks, animations, quizzes and virtual visits.
The web site provides 24/7 access to a rich range of relevant resources developed by experienced HSC teachers. It is especially valuable for students and teachers in rural and isolated areas.
NSW HSC Online enables students and teachers to obtain the most up-to-date and relevant materials anytime, anywhere and at a pace to suit their own needs.
Students and their teachers can also contact curriculum experts and participate in discussion forums for specific HSC subjects.
Parents of HSC students are also heavy users of the web site which provides information and advice to assist them and their child through the challenges of the HSC year. This information is also available in a number of other languages to assist non-English speaking parents. For parents is now available in Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, Khmer, Korean, Macedonian, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.
