The NSB Di 6 was a diesel locomotive which was built by Siemens for NSB between 1995 and 1996. It was meant to be the next generation of diesel locomotives for the unelectrified stretches on the Norwegian railway system, but the engine was unreliable and prone to failure, and all were returned to the factory in Germany after a few years. The engines are now operated by Siemens as "Dispolok" locomotives. Twelve Di 6 engines were built, and were numbered 6 661 to 6 672.
NSB never purchased any more diesel locomotives for hauling passenger trains, and the next generation of trains on lines such as Nordlandsbanen and Rørosbanen consist of diesel multiple units such as the BM93 while the remaining locomotive hauled passenger trains are operated by the older NSB Di 4s. Two new diesel engines were made for freight trains, the NSB Di 8 and CD66, both operated by CargoNet.
