Sorry, I intended to revert some changes by an anon, who changed the Partitions of Poland into Partitions of Poland and Lithuania, which is not a correct name since the name of the state was Poland and the existance of Lithuania as a separate entity was put to an end by May Constitution of Poland. [edit] Feng Shui as Pseudoscience

That's reasonable, and I suppose I should have explained myself more clearly. The first line of the Pseudoscience article says, "Pseudoscience refers to any body of knowledge or practice which purports to be scientific or supported by science but which is judged by the mainstream scientific community to fail to comply with the scientific method." It seemed to me that Feng Shui failed to meet the first of these criteria since I didn't note any claims "to be scientific or supported by science" in its article. Perhaps this claim is made in a wider context, or perhaps I simply didn't read the Feng Shui article carefully enough, but lacking such a claim in the article it seemed inconsistent to me. It's actually explicit in describing Feng Shui as a "belief system". Csernica 23:00, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

If you look at the edit histories of Smizmar[1] and Futurama (TV series)[2], you will note that User:The Epopt merged the salient point of the original Smizmar article (the entirety was "Smizmar is a word derived from the Adult Swim television show, Futurama. It means "life partner".") into the Futurama article ("Smizmar means "life partner" in the Linguistics section). My understanding is that the requirements of GFDL licensing mean we need to keep the original contribution history of all Wikipedia content available, and that history in this case is in the history record of the Smizmar article. I see. I should have looked more deeply: I did a google search for it and found nothing related to Futurama, therefore I thought it was just vandalism. Firstly let me say that I am sorry to have to bother you.

Secondly, I wish to let you know that a recent VFD that you took part in has closed. The result was that 32 people voted to keep all individual bible verses as seperate articles, and 34 voted that they shouldn't (2 abstensions, and 3 votes for both). This is considered by standard policy not to be a consensus decision (although the closing admin stated that it was a consensus to keep them).

Thirdly, the subject has now been put to a survey, so that it may remain open until there is a clear consensus for what appears to be a difficult issue to resolve. You may wish to take part in this survey, and record a similar vote to the one you made at the VFD there. The survey is available at Wikipedia:Bible verses.

SimonP (the creator of the 100 or so gospel verse articles) has tried to claim that the votes for the "only notable verses" section would include most of the 30,000 verses of the bible because he sees them as notable. To avoid such a POV twisting of the votes, I have added a new section - [3] - for voting on whether the number of notable verses is more like 30,000, or more like 30. Sure. Long day for me too. :o)
What I wanted to say is that compare modern science with, for instance, shamanism just because is also an human endeavor for understanding is IMHO, plainly wrong. I am not saying that the scientific method holds the absolute truth (it even goes against its own definition), but is by far the best method we have nowadays to discriminate what is a real to hoaxes. --Nova77 17:58, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

It's not GFDL yet, and I've replaced the tag for Image:Flying Spaghetti Monster.jpg with the more accurate Template:CopyrightedFreeUseProvidedThat. It's still great that we have a license for it now, though we could all rest a little easier if the image were released under the same terms as the site itself and had no other restrictions. --Ardonik.talk()* 18:40, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Well, basically for two reasons:
Don't worry about the mistake, it is normal at the beginning. If you have time, have a read to What Wikipedia is not.
