[edit] Synopsis
Jonathan Higgins is driving visiting Pamela Bates -- an old editor friend of Robin Master's -- along with her friend, and her secretary, to the Estate, when someone tries to run them off the road and over a cliff. But it seems that it's not a case for Thomas Magnum, when Pamela insists on waiting for her own mainland investigator friend to arrive and look into it - much to the annoyance of Thomas, who is supposed to be busy entering into a hotel land buying venture with Rick and T.C., but cant help himself investigating the case nonetheless. Pamela's investigator friend turns out to be famous crime mystery writer Jessica Fletcher, and so both Jessica and Magnum set about investigating just who wants one of the visiting guests dead, and why.

Thomas Magnum: (Voice-over) Everybody, deep down inside thinks he, or she, is a private investigator. Jessica Fletcher was no exception. Despite her denials, I was sure she fancied herself as the consummate crime solver.
[edit] Triva
- This episode is a cross-over with the long-running series, Murder, She Wrote, with special guest star Angela Lansbury appearing as Jessica Fletcher from the series. The story originally continued in Murder, She Wrote's third season episode Magnum On Ice, in which Magnum is framed for murder. A new ending was filmed for this portion of the episode to make it into a single, stand alone episode for syndication.
