Irvine Novaquatics (also known as Nova) is a USA Swimming-affiliated swim team based in Irvine, California. The Novaquatics team is currently ranked as the #3 swim team program in the United States by USA Swimming.[1] Celebrated alumni of the Novaquatics team include Olympians Amanda Beard, Aaron Peirsol, Jason Lezak, Gabrielle Rose and Staciana Stitts.
The team is led by head coach Ron Turner, previously of the YMCA of the Triangle Area swim team. Turner was named to the position in August 2006, after former head coach Dave Salo stepped down in April 2006 to become head coach of the University of Southern California swim team. Salo remains General Manager of the Novaquatics program.
