Nouvelle Star (a.k.a. A La Recherche De La Nouvelle Star for the first season) is a French reality television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show searches for the best singer in La Francophonie.

Nouvelle Star is notable in that its color scheme (pink/purple) for both graphics and set decoration has differed from all other international editions of Pop Idol (blue/azure) since its second season.

It was hosted by Benjamin Castaldi for the first three seasons and 13 episodes of the fourth season, then Virginie Efira finished season 4 and is currently hosting season 5.

The first season featured auditions in France, Belgium, and Quebec, Canada. Later seasons dropped Quebec from the audition tour.

For Nouvelle Star 2 & Nouvelle Star 3, auditions were held in Toulouse, Rennes, Marseilles, Lille, Liège, Lyon, and Paris.

For Nouvelle Star 4, auditions were held in
