From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A common refrain when articles or sections thereof are being deleted is that, "Wikipedia is not a..." whatever type of site the material would be more appropriate for. Unfortunately, this is not particularly helpful or calming to the person(s) who put in time and effort to write the material only to see it casually tossed away. Attached below is a list of wikis and similar sites which do allow various types of content that Wikipedia does not. Wikimedia sites and others which would allow most content to be moved over verbatim are given preference. Please consider directing people to these sites which are 'not Wikipedia' rather than simply telling them that 'Wikipedia is not' the right place for their efforts.
