My name is James, and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a 30 year old computer professional.

I enjoy reading, music, travel, hiking, and talking about hiking. I hike because I am primarily a tourist, secondarily because it keeps me healthy. I enjoy sharing stories about my hikes: both mishaps and triumphs, and I believe that discovering hiking has changed my life.

I've lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since I was 6 years old, moving from Southern California. My family settled in Utah in the 1850's, migrating to SoCal in the 1920's. I am a product of the Clark County School District, an alumnus of Eldorado High School (Las Vegas). My literary interests include regional history (Nevada, Arizona, and Utah) and extends to popular culture, geography, hiking, and moutain climbing.

[edit] Mission

Presently, I am working to provide content for articles on hiking trails that I am familiar with, through research (web, book, periodical) that I do anyway in preparation for hiking them.

In particular, I would like an article I've created (or contributed to heavily) to achieve Featured Article status. At the moment, the article I'm primping and preening to accomplish this is Bright Angel Trail. However, this article may have limited enough appeal to keep it out of FA running, so I suppose I can hope for Good Article status.

I also spend time hunting vandals in the recent changes page, as well reverting vandalism on the pages in my watchlist. I urge any editors to join in to help clean up vandalism.
