[verify notability]

The template documentation below is transcluded from Template:Notablewarn/doc [edit]

This template is here to remind people to verify a topic's notability before following a red link and creating the article, thus saving them from the potential frustration of future deletion processes.

As the template is quite cumbersome at this point, please avoid using it in real articles — it was primarily meant for "list of" articles and the requested articles pages. To use it, place "{{notablewarn}}" near the link.

If you have verified the notability of the subject, you are usually welcome to:

  • Unlink it, if the linked article has been deleted in the past.
  • Remove the template, if you found the topic to be notable.
  • Remove the template, and remove/unlink the red link (possibly leaving white text), if you found the topic to be non-notable.

Though not strictly necessary, it's advisable to give a brief reason in the edit summary.

To find articles using this template, see Category:Articles with non-notable red links.
