Notre Dame High School (NDHS) in Sherman Oaks, California, is a co-ed Catholic college preparatory high school founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1947. Notre Dame is known for an outstanding college-prep academic program, championship athletics, and award-winning fine arts program. NDHS has been honored by the United States Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Program, and is especially known for its band and football team. Its newspaper is The Knight, a member of the High School National Ad Network. Until the fall of 1985, Notre Dame was an all-male school. It became coeducational when Corvallis High School, an all-girls school nearby, closed. The school colors are navy blue and gold and the teams are called the Knights.

Notre Dame High School, a Catholic college preparatory school in the Holy Cross tradition, educates the hearts and minds of students who are diverse in talent, ethnicity and society. [edit] Irish Knight Band

Notre Dame is famous for its Irish Knight Marching Band. The band, led by director John Combes, has performed in over 425 consecutive football games and has won several awards at prestigious band reviews. It is the oldest extra-curricular activity on campus. The Irish Knight Band is the host of the Sherman Oaks Band Review.
