[edit] Background

This school was once Notre Dame Academy, an all-girls' school founded in 1878. They changed the name to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in 1988 when the school went coed, however Cathedral Latin School had actually closed 10 years earlier and was located 30 miles away, so this was not a merger.
