Noto Peninsula

Noto Peninsula (能登半島, Noto-hantō) is a peninsula that projects north into the Sea of Japan from the coast of Ishikawa prefecture in central Honshū, the main island of Japan.

Area of Noto Peninsula is divided to 3 regions.
- Kuchi-Noto (Entrance of Noto)
- South part of the area. Hakui City, Kahoku City, Hodatu-Shimizu Town, Sika Town
- Naka-Noto (Middle of Noto)
- Middle part of the area. Nanao City, Naka-Noto Town
- Oku-Noto (Depths of Noto)
- North part of the area. Wazima City, Suzu City, Noto Town, Anamizu Town

- Wakura Hot Spring
- locates on Nanao City (Naka-Noto). Very good health resort. This town is terminal of West Japan Railway Company.
- Keta Great Shrine
- locates on Hakui City(Kuchi-Noto).Well known as the god of finding lover and marriage.
- Wajima Morning fair
- held on center of Wajima City (Oku-Noto). One can buy various and fresh fish and vegetables cheaply.
- Soji Temple
- locates on Wajima City. Great Head temple of Soto Zen Buddhism. Here is the older cathedrals, and the newer one locates on Kanagawa Prefecture, now.
- Mituke Zima
- which means "found island". Locates on Suzu City(Oku-Noto).The name comes from the legend where Saint Kobo (beginner of esoteric Buddhism in Japan) found his magic stick here.
- Unoke
- locate on Kahoku City (Kuchi-Noto). First office computer in Japan was manufactured by Unoke Electronics(now PFU) established in this town.
- Anamizu
- (Oku-Noto) known as one of the place where Percival Lowell made a stay during his visit to Japan. Memorial hall for him stands on small hill near Anamizu bay.

- West Japan Railway
- Nanao line comes from Kanazawa to Wakura hot spring via Unoke, Hakui.
- Noto Railway
- Small local railway from Wakura to Anamizu.
- Noto Airport
- locates on the middle of Anamizu and Wazima. Air line to Haneda(Tokyo).
- Noto Tollway
- comes from Kanazawa to Anamizu Town.
- No-Etu Motor Road
- (partly opened) comes from Tonami(Toyama Prefecture) to Wazima via Nanao and Noto-Airport.
- Suzu Road
- Free elongation of Noto tollway.Anamizu to Suzu.
- Route 249
- National Road go around the Noto Peninsula.

- Wazima-nuri
- famous and very gorgeous Japan ware, producted around the Wazima City.
- Ishiri
- special fish sauce, used for local cookings.
- Kan-buri
- Buri(yellowtail fish) on winter. Yellowtails are called different name as they grow. In Noto, they called Kozokura -> Fukuragi -> Ganto -> Buri.
- Potato cakes
- Many confectioner of this cake spread in Oku-Noto.

On March 25, 2007, the 2007 Noto earthquake shook the peninsula, causing one death and at least 170 injuries.
