Notepad+

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Notepad+ is a text editor for Windows PC systems intended as a replacement for the default Notepad editor. It was developed by Rogier Meurs of RogSoft and first released in 1996. At that time Notepad on Windows 95 was very limited in its facilities and could only open files up to 64 kibibytes. Notepad+ removed that limitation and added many new features.

The program has not been developed since v1.11 in 1996 but it still has many users who prefer its simple interface over many of the other Notepad alternatives which have since appeared.
