The song was written and produced by Babyface and became a major hit for Blige, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. The lyrics are inspired by Angela Bassett's character, a frustrated woman abandoned by her philandering husband, in the movie. The music video features clips from the film.
