A transparent PNG version of Image:Notre dame coat of arms.jpg, obtained from the University Archives of the University of Notre Dame du Lac. The picture is an excerpt of the original armorial achievement created by Pierre Chaignon de la Rose and published in the February 1931 issue of the Notre Dame Alumnus and Notre Dame Scholastic. The copyright on those works was not renewed and has subsequently expired, but the image's use as a trademark is still protected.
