The MeatballWiki is currently AFU'd, but as soon as it is fixed, you should probably add a link to their essay on Goodbye to the main page. BlankVerse 11:24, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I did so. Thanks :). NoSeptember 21:01, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unannounced departures

One caveat might apply. Sometimes people leave with a good, short, succint reason, and then explain themselves when they come back. I'm fine with that. More problematic is when people leave unannounced, but their actions make it clear they are in fact leaving. If they come back, I again think a well-written explanation can help re-integration. It is the soap-opera drama exits that really rile me. Even an explanation doesn't help much, as it is the nature of the exit that reveals something about that person's character and how they handle stressful situations. I'm in two minds as to whether an unannounced departure is more or less bad than a dramatic announced departure. I suppose a long period of inactivity can be followed up by notes on the talk page and e-mails. Anyway, I've been looking for a while for something like what you've written here, and I agree with it entirely. Slow and steady wins the race. Commitment is a good thing. [edit] Is everyone still here?

I'm now wondering if everyone on this list is still here... :-) The results might be depressing, so I won't investigate just yet! Carcharoth 13:14, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
