Nostrand Avenue is an elevated station on the Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Branch in Brooklyn. The station has two side platforms located in the median of Atlantic Avenue. Entrances and exits are located at Nostrand Avenue and New York Avenue. A ticket booth (which is believed to be closed) is located at the Nostrand Avenue end of the eastbound platform, along with a ticket machine. This station can hold 6-car trains. This station is also in proximity to the A and C trains two blocks north at Fulton Street. Trains leave every 15-25 minutes on weekdays, and 30-55 on weekends. 24-hour service is provided at this station. Connections exist to the B25, B44, and B65 bus routes.

An interesting feature of this station is its resemblance to a typical elevated New York City subway station.[original research?]

[edit] Trivia

  • The Nostrand Avenue station was partly the setting of rapper Lil' Kim's music video Lighter's Up.
