== Very tenuous link to Sting ==
Didn't Sting leave Northern Counties College twenty years before Northumbria University came into being? Hardly an alumnus!
[edit] source for the figures
Can anyone provide a source for the quoted student population figures? I have a suspicion that they could be out-of-date. If so, please cite your sources and provide a date from when the census took place. Cheers! -- Jon Dowland 21:26, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Enrollment figures
You were right, wherever those figures came from they were incorrect. According to the University's own website, there are "just over 23,500 students about 16,000 of whom are full-time" . The webpage where I obtained the information was updated on 19 July 2006. Here is the link if you wish to check it out. History of Northumbria University. I have updated the page to reflect this.
[edit] University ratings
(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)
There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings.
