Norwood, North Yorkshire

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ordnance Survey Explorer Map 297 (Lower Wharfedale & Washburn Valley) records two geographical features named Norwood: Norwood Edge and Norwood Bottom, as well as a house called Norwood Hall. But the largest settlement with this name (on Norwood Lane) is marked on the map as "Bland Hill". There is also a Norwood in the Washburn Valley (pronounced locally as "Norood", just as Warwick is pronounced "Warrick"). The parish church is nearby at Fewston close to Swinsty Reservoir.
