Norwich School of Art & Design

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Norwich School of Art & Design is a higher education specialist art and design college, based on a single site in the centre of Norwich, in the United Kingdom. It is the product of a merger between the Norwich School of Art and Great Yarmouth College of Art. 1,100 higher education students are currently under its banner, a School of Art having existed here since 1845.

The School's degrees, meanwhile, are validated by the Anglia Ruskin University.

The School enjoys ties with the Norwich Gallery.

The School offers a wide array of Bachelor of Art and Master of Art courses for students. The main site itself is located on Redwell Street in Norwich which is literally a 10 minute walk from the city's train station. NSAD is split into many segments each contributing to the bigger picture.

The building on Redwell Street which is given the name Francis House is the main reception for NSAD, while the academic building is another 2 minute walk from this point which offers almost all of the equipment you will need from a large Mac' and PC suite, A1 style printing rooms, animation studios, professional sound booths, academic studios and much more besides.

There are 2 considerably significant areas of accommodation for first year students, which is the Beechcroft complex off Sprowston Road and Nicholas Mews which is located on the opposite side of Norwich from the train station, both of which are between 10 and 20 minutes' walking distance to most of NSAD's buildings.
