NorthWest Weathernet, Incorporated was established in Washington State in September of 1983 by Tony Mouser. The company was founded by professional meteorologists with previous experience in private sector forecasting and consulting for a variety of commercial and public agency clients. Weathernet's first clients came from the construction industry, but the range of our clientele expanded rapidly into local government and news media sectors as well. Presently, Weathernet serves a large cross section of clients, of which approximately 70% are agencies having direct responsibility for providing public services. Although many of NorthWest Weathernet's public interests are in the Pacific Northwest, the company also serves public agencies spanning all western states and the western provinces of Canada. Most of the government interests are concerned with high liability issues related to potential life and property loss, as well as the efficiency of day to day operations and overtime labor management.

In today's world of "bigger, faster, better" high technology it is believed that much is lost in relating to individuals actually having to accomplish specific tasks that require human interaction. The success of the Weathernet program centers on very basic principles:

Manpower and Experience
NorthWest Weathernet has the greatest number of logged service hours to weather dependent clients in the Pacific Northwest than any other company. Additionally, Weathernet has three operational service centers located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kamloops, British Columbia and the main office in the Seattle, Washington area. The concept of regionalization of professional staff will continue to expand in order to focus on client interests in specific geographical locations.

The NorthWest Weathernet staff is composed of professional meteorologists and engineers having extensive experience not only in operational forecasting, but in professional service development, information management, systems design, supporting services, and user education as well. All members of our staff have either spent most of their lives or received their higher education (or both) right here in the Pacific Northwest, with combined staff experience in the unique weather features of this region amounting to several decades. At minimum, each staff member holds a bachelor's degree in meteorology, with several having advanced graduate degrees and other professional certifications.

Disaster Readiness
Northwest Weathernet services are supported by primary and secondary automated power backup facilities. In the unlikely event of a facility failure other regional Weathernet office environments will provide backup to service client needs.
