Northwest High School is a public high school (grades 9-12) in Germantown, Maryland, United States.

Northwest is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools. As of 2006, its enrollment is over 2,000 students. It is the second high school in Germantown, the first being Seneca Valley High School, with which Northwest shares an athletic rivalry. The school also serves small sections of the city of Gaithersburg. The school has also recently undergone an expansion project that was completed during the summer of 2006.

Its school mascot is the Jaguar and its colors are black, silver and white.

NWHS currently offers a number of honors and AP courses along with French, Spanish, Chinese, and Latin for foreign languages. The school is also the host of The Ulysses Signature Program. It is a four-year long program that helps students explore and discover their interests among the following themes: (1) Arts and Humanities; (2) Public Policy and Public Service; and (3) Math, Science and Technology. The program is open to all entering freshmen and is for highly motivated and hard-working students. [1]

All teams have both varsity and junior varsity teams with the exception of tennis, golf, volleyball, hockey, swim and dive, lacrosse, poms, and COED volleyball. All teams have both boys and girls teams except for those where gender is specified.
