Northolt is a London Underground station in Northolt, Middlesex, north-west of London. On the Central Line, it lies between Greenford and South Ruislip, in Travelcard Zone 5.

[edit] The station today

The station layout is an island platform with passenger access down from the booking hall. West of the platforms a shunting neck allows services terminating at the station to be moved off the running lines for later dispatch eastwards. East of the station, a crossover on the other side of the road overbridge allows trains arriving from Greenford and terminating to be reversed straight back towards central London without being shunted.

The passenger facilities on the platforms were modernised some years ago with platform resurfacing, removal of the heated waiting room and improvement of the lighting.

North of the Central Line can still be seen the tracks of what remains of the GWR line from Paddington. These are still used by freight movements, and by an exiguous passenger service (operated by First Great Western Link for Chiltern Railways) from High Wycombe. There are no platforms.
