Northlands Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Northlands is a sporting, stage, and festival complex located in the north area of downtown Edmonton, Alberta. It is the home of an indoor arena called the SportEx, a festival and stage building called the AgriCom, the famous Rexall Place of the Edmonton Oilers, and live Horse Racing at the Spectrum. Northlands is also home to Bonanza Park, a Klondike-themed park with a gold panning river, an outdoor stage, and a little miniature railroad with a live steam locomotive. The Bonanza Park is only operational during Capital Ex (formerly Klondike Days), which Northlands is famous for.
Northlands is also home of the Canadian Finals Rodeo, or CFR, each November.
[edit] Trivia
- Northlands also has a tall, wavy amusement park style slide that (despite being only used during Capital Ex) stays standing on the complex all year round.
- During Capital Ex, the parking lot at Northlands is covered from end to end with fair rides and food stalls.
