Northern Anatolian conifer and deciduous forests

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Northern Anatolian conifer and deciduous forests is a temperate coniferous forest ecoregion of northern Turkey. The ecoregion extends along the Pontic Mountains of northern Anatolia, and is bounded by the Euxine-Colchic deciduous forests ecoregion to the north, which occupies the coastal strip between the mountains and the Black Sea. To the east, the Northern Anatolian conifer and deciduous forests transition to the Caucasus mixed forests. The drier Anatolian Plateau lies to the south, where the Northern Anatolian forests transition to the Eastern Anatolian deciduous forests to the southeast, the Central Anatolian deciduous forests to the south, and the Anatolian conifer and deciduous mixed forests to the southwest.
