Northeast Guilford High School

Northeast Guilford High School (NEHS) is located in north eastern Guilford County, North Carolina. This school has an enrollment of 1265 students. This is a 4 year high school that operates on the block schedule. The school is located on 6700 McLeansiville Road, McLeansville, North Carolina 27301. It is next to Northeast Guilford Middle School.

The school's colors are blue and white. Their mascot is the mighty Rams

Northeast is 47% Caucasian, 43% African American, 5% Hispanic, 3% Multi-Racial,.01% Asian, and .01% American Indian.

Northeast Guilford runs on the block schedule, with traditionally four periods a day. Classes are switched over at the end of each semester, unless they are year-long AP courses. The 9th Grade Academy runs on a different schedule.

Northeast offers AP classes in Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, European History, French, Latin, Music Theory, Psychology, Spanish, Statistics, U.S History, United States Government and Politics, and World History.

Northeast also offers Honors courses and College Prep Courses. There is also a NJROTC program.

The mighty rams offer sports such as Cross Country, JV Football, Varsity Football, Soccer, Women's Tennis, Volleyball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Swimming, Wrestling, Basketball and Indoor Track. The rams have very successful seasons in multiple areas of sports.

They have a great football team. Their head coach is Tommy Persley. They have made the playoffs 13 years in a row.

Northeast Guilord offers a variety of clubs ranging but not limited to: Beta Club, Jr. Civitans, National French Honor Society, SADD, SGA, SMART club, Spanish Club, Technology Club, Chess Club, and Art Club.

The rams have annual dances including prom. The rams also have annual bar-b-que dinner before homecoming for our Varsity football team.

Northeast has a main building, a vocational building, and a well established amount of trailer classes. In the year 2005, due to the increase in enrollment, Northeast went under construction. The cafeteria was updated to accommodate 500 students. A new gym and a separate building are under construction and are scheduled to be completed at the end of the 2006/2007 school year.
