The North Quarter of Brisbane's CBD is a new plan to revitalise the area dramatically. The renewal will include at least six new skyscrapers such as 400 George, and the refurbishment of the historical McDonnell & East building. The planned Tank Street Footbridge will link the precinct to the cultural quarter in the South Bank Parklands, with the bridge leading into the grounds of the new Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. It is also anticipated that it will merge into the proposed North Bank development in the distant future.

The areas proximity to the Roma Street Parklands, Queen Street Mall and Roma Street are reasons for the current revitalisation.
