[edit] History

The school made the news in 1999 when a female student was suspended for four days because she was alleged to have threatened another student by making the shape of a gun with her hand and saying "bang". When asked if she was making a threat, she replied "No, it's a promise", quoting a movie. The student, a member of the National Honor Society, was interviewed by police and required to sign a "behavioral contract" before being permitted to return to school. [1] [2]
