From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North Middle School is located in the Old North End of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school is a Colorado Springs School District 11 public school that feeds into Palmer High School. North Middle School offers normal classes in addition to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
The IB program is a program designed to challenge children more than they would be in a traditional public school. The program originated in Switzerland in 1968. Now there are about 1,500 schools that participate in the program. The IB students are required to do community service hours as per educational conduct. 16 hours are required in 6th grade, 20 in 7th, and 24 in 8th. The program's students are able to get extra education like learning German, French, and Spanish. Students must obtain all grades higher than a D, but can be a problem because of lengthy homework assignments.
