History

The northern part of Killiney was a field and forest on the edge of Dalkey Hill before residential areas were built in the 1960s. Many residents trace their familly routes to Dun Laoighrie, Sallynoggin and Dalkey. The area fatigued during the 1980s and early 90s but has now been developed. Most of the old housing has been refurnished and the anti-social element is decreasing. Similar suburbs include Loughlinstown, Kimmage and Sallynoggin.
