North Greenwich
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
North Greenwich is an old, now disused name for the southern tip of the Isle of Dogs in London, United Kingdom. It faces Greenwich over the River Thames. The area is now rather known as South Millwall. It should not be confused with the northern part of present-day Greenwich.
There was once a North Greenwich railway station in the area now known as South Millwall; this no longer exists, but there is now a North Greenwich tube station on London Underground's Jubilee Line. However, this is not in the area historically known as North Greenwich, but rather is south of the river on the Blackwall peninsula, also known as the Greenwich peninsula, near the Millennium Dome.
