Boundary Commission changes saw the North East Somerset Seat lose 4 wards in the South Gloucestershire Local Authority previously contained within Wansdyke. Bitton, Hanham, Longwell Green and Oldland Common. In return the new seat gained the whole of the Bathavon North ward and half the Bathavon South ward both from the Bath constituency.
Politically these changes are not seen as favourable to the Labour Party and calculations carried out by Anthony Wells of UKPolling Report based on previous local election results predicts that this seat would have a notional majority of 234 for the Conservatives.
