North Country Democracy for America

A group of local progressive activists from the north east North Country, New York area working with Democracy for America.
North Country Democracy for America (DFA) was founded as the North Country Folks for Dean meetup group in April 2003 in support of former Vermont governor, presidential-nomination candidate, and current Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean's 2004 Presidential bid.
In early 2006 North Country DFA organised a large peace demonstration advocating for the end of the War in Iraq attended by over 250 people from around the North Country, New York area.
They have helped in the election efforts of Andrew Wylie for Clinton County D.A., Tom Wood for Town of Plattsburgh Town Council and William Provost for City of Plattsburgh Common Council.
North Country Democracy for America, also known as "North Country DFA", meets on the first Thursday of each month at The North Country Democracy for America Election Center, 22 US Oval - Office 118, Plattsburgh.

North Country Democracy for America is currently supporting the campaigns of Dr. Robert J. Johnson for U.S. Congress (NY-23), Dr. Tim Merrick for New York State Senate (D-45), Andrew Brockway for New York State Assembly (D-114), and Kevin Duniho for Mayor of Plattsburgh.
