The next election for North Carolina's Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and other Council of State members will take place on November 4, 2008, coinciding with the U.S. presidential election. Incumbet Mike Easley is term-limited, meaning this is an open-seat race. Primary elections are ordinarily held in May.
