[edit] Genie Meanie Miney Mo

Norm was first introduced to Timmy Turner and his fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda in this episode. In this episode, he grants Timmy's three rule-free wishes, such as love, but outsmarts him with every one (When Timmy wished for a breakfast meal, it wasn't on a plate; when Timmy wished for Trixie to fall in love with him, she fell in love with every single Timmy Turner in the world (ironically, when Trixie was at his house to give him a kiss, the spell wore off as Norm was sucked into a Smoof vacuum); when Timmy wished that his dad had a billion dollars, his dad was arrested for counterfeiting). As the lamp starts to suck Norm back in, he throws it to Cosmo and Wanda, and they get trapped in the lamp instead.

Timmy then sucks Norm into a SMOOF vacuum cleaner (SMOOF being a fictional reference to hemp, as one of Timmy's hippie teachers cited that Timmy hasn't heard of the supposedly fantastic material because "the man" doesn't want him to). Norm can't escape it because it is one of the three things he can't escape from (SMOOF, magic lamps, and the charms of Barbara Eden - an in-joke reference to I Dream of Jeannie). After "persuading" Norm to give him three more wishes with nails and bees, Timmy wishes for a lawyer. Despite Norm suggesting Timmy use one of his wishes to have teeth better than his buck teeth, Timmy just uses the lawyer to restore everything back to normal (says Norm: "I hate being out-jerked!"), and Norm gets sucked back into the lamp. Mr. Crocker then buys the lamp, and sends it to his uncle that lives in Canada (who is oddly obsessed with genies, like Crocker is with fairies). Even though he believes in genies, Crocker's uncle can't rub the lamp because he's in a straitjacket.

[edit] Back to the Norm

Norm gets freed from the lamp by Mr. Crocker, and the two work together to get revenge on Timmy. As part of their alliance, Norm tells Crocker that he can actually grant wishes for more wishes, despite claims to the contrary, and Crocker takes advantage of this loophole to wish for all the materials needed for their shared revenge. Just like Wile E. Coyote, however, Crocker's wishes for fairy-catching and Timmy-smashing inventions keep backfiring on him, and Crocker's consistent wishing for more wishes from Norm nearly drives the genie into having a nervous breakdown.

First Plan "Operation Smashing Failure": Crocker and Norm make two giant "F"s. They are disguised as "The Timmy Turner Memorial", and when Timmy comes under it, Crocker explodes it with a TNT, expecting it to crush Timmy. However, it actually lands on Crocker-causing the operation to be a flop.

Second Plan "Plan Number Two": In a desert with an easy biking distance of Dimmsdale, Crocker uses magical painting skills to paint Trixie Tang with ice cream near a tunnel, which he expects Timmy to rush to, and crash into the wall, causing the rock to topple and destroy him. However, he ends up actually going through it with Trixie, and as Crocker jerks out, he crashes into the wall, and the rock topples on him.

Third Plan "Crock-A-Doodle-Doom": Crocker expects Timmy to come outside wearing metal roller skates, and get pulled by a giant magnet through a rubber glove machine, pillow shreders, glue, and all the way to the DFC (Dimmsdale Fried Chicken). He wishes for roller skates, which he puts at Timmy's front door, however Crocker has metal on him, causing him to be pulled through his own trap, again. We then see Timmy near the DFC.

After Norm sees the Crocker Cave, he quits working with Crocker, comes to Timmy and suggests him send Crocker to Mars, which he does (and kept suggesting to Crocker to send Timmy to throughout the episode).

[edit] Fairy Idol

In this episode, Norm MacDonald was unable to reprise his role as Norm the Genie. Instead, he was voiced by Robert Cait. Fairy Idol is Norm's last appearance. He is now the servant of the Mayor of Dimmsdale. During the second wish taking place, he reads a book that Cosmo gave him, Da Rules. In it, he finds that if a fairy godparent quits, the position is open to any magical creature.

After becoming genie of Chester, and tricking him, he tricks Timmy into spending time with Chester. The clone of Timmy that replaces Timmy in school eventually makes Cosmo and Wanda quit, and Norm laughs as his plan works.

Jorgen von Strangle arrives, but zaps the clone's memory, not Timmy's (who is hiding in the closet).

In the finals of Fairy Idol, Norm plays the song Give me the Wand, which Cosmo actually interrupts, and they both sing at the same time. Cosmo and Wanda win, but Norm distracts Jorgen and Cosmo and Wanda get in an "accident"(in reality, an incident).

Norm becomes godparent of Chester, and Chester eventually wishes Timmy was Norm's godchild. But Timmy refuses to make any wishes and after two weeks, Norm explodes from magical buildup (Embarrassingly enough, in front of two female genies). He is forced to grant Timmy's wish, which is Cosmo and Wanda back to being his godparent. But then Norm quits before he grants the wish. Jorgen comes and rips out Norms wings. Then he wipes Timmy's memory.

Then Chester appears and he still has one last genie wish. He wishes everything was back to normal. Norm is wished back into the lamp, and that's the last we see of Norm. He was last seen with Jorgen, who stated that Norm's lamp would make the best urinal cake ever.

Spoilers end here.
