Nord-Frøya

Nord-Frøya is a former municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. Nord-Frøya was created on January 1, 1906 when Frøya municipality was split into Nord-Frøya and Sør-Frøya, at which point Nord-Frøya had a population of 3 972.

On January 1, 1964 Nord-Frøya with its 4 348 inhabitants was merged with Sør-Frøya to once again form the municipality Frøya.

During the big national IQ test on the state TV-station NRK in 2003, the inhabintants of Nord-Frøya was proven to be smarter than the people of Sør-Frøya. The results showed that the people of Nord-Frøya was, at an average, 34 % smarter than their neighbours. Since this, the administration has closed down the school at Titran, simply because they thought it was a complete waist of funds using money on educating people from Sør-Frøya. Since then, every "titterværing" has been attending school at Frøya's undisputed municipality, Sistranda.
