Noranda TSX: NRD.LV-T was a mining and metallurgy company originally from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 1920 by Edmond Henry Horne as Noranda Mines to exploit the Horne Mine. Extraction of copper began on 17 December 1927. Although extraction was originally predicted to last for only three years, additional reserves were quickly discovered. The Noranda head office came to be located in Toronto, and the company had operations in 18 countries.

In 2005 China Metals was rumoured to be interested in buying the company, which produced caused the government to review it's foreign investment policy. In June 2005 Noranda completed its merger with Falconbridge Limited. The combined company continued under the Falconbridge name only. Shortly after completing its merger with Falconbridge, the company was acquired by Xstrata.
