Nora Denney

Dodo Denney (a.k.a. Nora Denney) (5 May 1928 – 20 November 2005) was an American actress. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, USA to her parents Lillian and Dix Teachenor. She was a stage, television, and film actress as well as an avid gardener. One of her most notable roles was as Mrs. Teavee in the 1971 musical film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder and Jack Albertson, although she was actually the producers second choice behind Jean Stapleton who declined the part to do a pilot for CBS titled, "All In The Family". Her sons Dix and John are the founders of the Los Angeles based punk band The Weirdos. Nora died on 20 November 2005 after a brief illness at her home in Crestline, California, USA. She was 77.
