[edit] Features
[edit] Class Skills
No Quarter has expanded the skill reward system in Enemy Territory to support up to 9 levels in each of the 7 skills. Each new level brings a new reward. Some of the more popular rewards added in No Quarter are:
- Level 9 First Aid: Battlefield Resuscitation - players can revive other players without being a medic, through the use of a method similar to CPR
- Level 9 Light Weapons: Pistol Execution - players can execute other players by drawing their pistol and firing it to the back of the enemy's head at point blank range.
- Level 8 Light Weapons: Throwing Knives - players can throw their knives to silently hit enemies from a distance. Damage is proportional to the speed of the knife when it hits.
- Level 7 Light Weapons: Poison Syringes - can disorient a player and makes them see a cloudy green color while their HP drains. Poison can only be cured by a medic's needle.
- Level 6 Covert Ops: Silent Movement - Covert Ops can run at normal speed without making any footstep sounds. The will, however, still make sound when sprinting and jumping.
Furthermore, for Engineers, Field Ops, and Medics, their new level 5 skill is aura based, with a region of effect, similar to many RPGs.
[edit] Weapons
No Quarter has added some weapons to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory's inventory to keep Allied weapons for the Allies and Axis weapons for the Axis.
- Winchester M1897 trench gun for Engineers and Field Ops on both teams
- Poison Syringes (Level 7 Light Weapons skill)
- Throwing Knives (Level 8 Light Weapons skill)
- Bazooka for Allied Soldiers (replaced panzerfaust)
- Silenced MP34 for Axis Covert Ops (replace Sten)
- BAR with Bipod for Allied Covert Ops and Allied Soldiers (replace Thompson and FG42, respectively)
- StG44 for Axis Soldiers (replace MP40); both aforementioned weapon make Soldier even more useful, as they have more attacking power without the overheat problems
- Mobile Browning .30cal LMG for Allied Soldiers (replace MG42)
- Granatwerfer for Axis Soldiers (replace standard mortars)
- Venom, a powerful minigun-esque weapon available to soldiers of both sides; appeared in RTCW
[edit] Kicking
No Quarter has reimplemented a feature RTCW single player; kicking with your foot. In No Quarter, there are some interesting uses of this. It is useful for kicking open doors so they open faster and damage players behind them. Players can kick another player which will shove them back a distance, possibly off a cliff or ledge. You can kick grenades, airstrikes, and smoke canisters away from you. A recent update has increased the kick distance and speed very humourously, sending your opponent (or ally) flying into the distance - bouncing off hills and terrain, most probably getting them killed. It has been renamed 'throw' by the ET community due to this. It is regarded 'Team Kill' should you do this at any time other than the Warm Up, resulting usually in retaliationary contact. By 'throwing' an ally at certain game object such as hills and ramps, it is possible to send them for many metres into the air, providing an effective reconnaisance unit - should he return to the ground in one piece.
[edit] Leaning
One of the most obvious things missing from unmodded Enemy Territory were leaning animations. You can lean in first person view, but you never see other players lean. No Quarter has fixed this by adding in leaning animations. When players lean, it is now visible to all.
[edit] Ammo Sharing
Players can share ammo without having to be a Field Ops. Using the /dropweapon and /dropclip commands, players can give another player some of their own ammo.
[edit] Smoke Color
Airstrike and landmine smoke color is customizable per team through the use of 2 CVARs each.
[edit] Breath Bar
When underwater, a player's stamina bar turns into a blue oxygen bar and shows you how long before your start taking drowning damage.
[edit] Ranks
Since No Quarter uses more skills, more ranks are necessary. Axis also are no longer using Allied ensignia, but appropriate Axis ranks.
[edit] Omni-bot Support
Starting with the release of No Quarter 1.1.1, Omni-bot 0.6 will be supported.
[edit] Insanity Modes
New fun modes have been added to the game such as:
- Instant Spawning
- Guided Rockets
- Rocket and Mortar Cameras
- Venom Gun from RTCW
