Nome is a municipality in the county of Telemark, Norway. Nome consists of a number of villages, including Bjervamoen, Ulefoss and Svenseid.

The municipality of Nome was created in 1964 - and the name was taken from a lake in the river of Eidselva. The meaning of the name is unknown.

The coat-of-arms is from modern times (1989). It is meant to represent the Telemark canal, which is running through the municipality.
