[edit] History

The airline was established in 1992 and started operations in 1997. It began operations mainly to service hunting and fishing outfitters in the Schefferville area. In 1999 the Prud'Homme family trust became the majority stockholder. The new administration was a turning point for this fast growing company. That same year Nolinor greeted the arrival of its Aircraft Maintenace Organization (AMO).

In 2001, the company bought its firt fully cargo Convair 580 and started providing cargo service to the United States and the northern region of Canada. In order to respond to the growing cargo market, Nolinor Aviation bought two more full cargo Convair 580 in 2004.

Expending very rapidly, Nolinor needed more space for its Convair 580 fleet. In 2005 the company moved it's maintenance facilities to Mirabel International Airport. The new hangar provides more than 100 000 sq.ft. and is able to accommodate aircraft like the Boeing 747-200, 767, Airbus 310, 320. The tarmac has more than 300 000 sq.ft. and provides sufficient parking space for all the Nolinor Convairs 580 and other Maintenance clients.

The year 2006 mark the arrival of C-GKFP, the fourth passenger Convair 580. Presently, Nolinor Aviation has 7 Convair 580. :
