Location of Nole in Italy

Nole (Pronounced "Nolay") is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 20 km northwest of Turin. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,447 and an area of 11.3 km2.[1]

Nole borders the following municipalities: Corio, Rocca Canavese, Grosso, San Carlo Canavese, Villanova Canavese, Cirié, Fiano, and Robassomero.

Some Italian men with the last name Nolle from Nole during the late 1800's migrated to South America and ended up in Lima, Peru where they married locals. The immigrants changed their last name from Nolle to Nole because too many people were pronouncing it as "Noyay". During the mid 1900's the men and women of the Nole families started to migrate to the US where they found their place as an American Citizen.
