[edit] Copyvio
I've removed two paragraphs from the "Centres of worship" section, because they were lifted wholesale from Celtnet.org (spotted because it included the phrase "Bronze reliefs (of which the image above is a portion)", but no image). --Nicknack009 21:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Another one - some of the material was taken from the Gods of Roman Britain page of Roman-Britain.org. There may be others. I'm giving the page a heavy rewrite with proper cites so as not to violate copyright. --Nicknack009 22:10, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, rewrite done. I've removed the etymological explanations which seem to be based on a trawl through Celtic word-lists on the internet as original research, and incorporated information on the inscriptions from the two sites linked above, with citations. Anything further from reputable sources can now be added. Although it's possible that the "identification" with Silvanus may be a misunderstanding of the inscription by a man called Silvianus - can anyone shed any light? --Nicknack009 23:21, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing the rewrite. Can I quickly ask whether you verified the dates each identical piece of text was written, so we can be sure that our editor copied them, and not the other way around? The Internet Archive may help here. Carcharoth 17:13, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

- The pages at Roman-Britain.org say they were last edited in 2005, and cite their sources. The CeltNet page also dates itself to 2005, and seems to be at least partly based on the Roman-Britain pages. Yes, I think we can be certain that the previous version of this article copied from them, not vice versa. Ideally this article should be based on proper sources like the ones Roman-Britain.org cites, but in the meantime it's better to cite tertiary sources than to copy them without attribution. --Nicknack009 17:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

- Brilliant. Thanks for checking that. Carcharoth 00:31, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
