Nockebybanan

Nockebybanan is part of a light rail system that also comprises Tvärbanan in Stockholm, Sweden. The current line goes between Nockeby and Alvik in Stockholm's western suburbs. It has its history in the old tram line that at its greatest extent went from Nockeby to Tegelbacken in central Stockholm. Nockebybanan along with Lidingöbanan (line 21) were the only tram lines in Stockholm that weren't withdrawn in conjunction with the switch to right-hand side traffic in 1967. Since the opening of the western green metro lines in 1952, Nockebybanan goes primarily on dedicated embankment and it is closer to regard it as a light rail system rather than a traditional tramway.
During one year from June 1997 to June 1998 traffic was down on the line as it underwent a large scale renovation, and modification to accommodate the new A32 trams.

Nockebybanan has a single line (12) with ten stops, going from Nockeby to Alvik in western Stockholm. At Alvik there are interchange possibilities to Stockholm Metro green lines 17, 18 and 19, and light rail line 22.
