[edit] The Mission Statement
The official mission statement for NHS is as follows:
"Noble High School, a community of learners, believes that we are all capable of success. Through a rigorous curriculum, we foster the academic and personal growth of life-long learners. We value small, heterogeneous communities, which encourage innovation and honor the voices of all."
"A community of learners demonstrated by Responsible community and global contributions and being A flexible worker;
Rigorous curriculum demonstrated by Complex thinking and Competent use of content;
Foster the academic and personal growth of life-long learners by Effective communication, Life-long learning, and Exhibiting traits of a healthy person."
The words in bold reflect the Seven Guiding Principles of NHS.
As of the 2005-2006 school year, the current school Principal is Christian Elkington. He resigned in Februrary 2007. There are no known charges against him. The new Principle is Mr. Ladue. He's wanted to take over for a long time now, and he is a former member of Ratt. The Noble althletic teams are known as the "Noble Glimmer-Pixies", and their mascot is a Pikachu carrying a jug of moonshine, as a tribute to the Pokemon-like ferocity of Maine's northern-dwelling Mountain Men, swilling liquor and smoking cigarettes with a hatchet slung over his shoulder, as his 24-year old Mountain Bride clutches his 360-pound, flannel-covered body, and with a kiss, he leaves, to ride his moose through the forest to hunt wild pine cones for dinner.
Noble also has "houses" with in the school. Like Harry Potter. If you pass your Senior Project on the first try, you get magic powers.
