No Way Up

"Now Way Up" is the tenth episode in the first season of Cro. It aired on November 20, 1993.

[edit] Synopsis

Phil, Dr. C, and Mike are flying over the Australian Outback and all of the sudden, they experience a great amount of turbulence. Why? Phil soon discovers that something is wrong with the wing. As Dr. C, Phil, and Mike try to fix the wing, Phil remembers a story of long ago....

Nandy is chasing a butterfly and wishes she could fly. The Neanderthals think that Nandy will never fly. Then, Nandy suddenly discovers these orange berries and eats a whole lot of them! As a result, Nandy gets sick and Cro brings her to Ivana, but she can't help Nandy, but Earle and Mojo can! Meanwhile, thinking that Nandy will die, the Neandies have to do a ritual whenever a Neanderthal is doomed for death: make their dreams come true. And Nandy's dream is to fly. So they develop ways with Pakka's help. Meanwhile, after long, long examinations of Nandy, the mammoth brothers come to the conclusion that Nandy is going to die.

Back on the doomed plane, Phil has taken all of the parachutes, leaving none for Mike or Dr. C, and Phil goes out to fix the wing.

Pakka teaches the Neandies that air is possible for flight. Cro returns devastated that Nandy will die. Cro decides to watch the guys try out their flying devices. Ogg's is two large wooden wings attached to his arms and flaps them like birds do. But they fail because the wings are too heavy. Then, Bobb's try is holding two birds in his hands and attempting to fly, but the birds fly out of Bobb's hand. Then, Gogg's try is just flapping his arms like a bird, but that fails as well. Then, Cro wonders about Ogg's try, but with the wings smaller and other additions to support the flyer. It's a success after a test try. Cro gets Nandy and puts her in before Earle and Mojo can take her, but Nandy doesn't get fully ready.

However...

Nandy flies safely and gently lands. She then feels strange and goes behind a bush! It turns out that Nandy wasn't going to die, but had gas (BUUUUUUUURP!). She flew in her life and she'll never eat berries like the ones she ate again!

Phil is fixing the wing. At first, the plane flies faster toward the ground, but then Phil changes it and the plane goes straight again! Now that they've fixed one problem, they do, however, have a new problem: They've got no gas! The episode ends.

On Noggin, since, 2001, this episode aired very little times, most likely because of 9/11. The last time this episode aired on Noggin was on March 31, 2002 at 11 PM EST, 10 p.m. PST.
