NO THANKS were a New York Hardcore band circa 1982-1985. The first incarnation of the band consisted of Rob: songwriter and guitarist, Jimi: bassist and background vox ,Seth :drummer and visionary, Donna Damage: singer, feminist artist and band manager. This brief line up only lasted a few months. Demo 1982 was recorded at Noise, N.Y and NO Thanks played A7 and A7 annex every weekend. Fall, 1982, No Thanks changed dimensions and replaced Rob with bands bassist Jimi and added Jaime on bass. No Thanks recorded Are You Ready to Die? winter 1983 with Tony and Cleo7, Deadspace Records and A7 collaborators. Playing tons of shows mainly in Manhattan, No Thanks opened for Husker Du, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Necros, Bad Posture and MDC. No Thanks also gigged around with XKI, False Prophets, Drunk Driving, Savage Circle,Rapid Deployment Force, Adrenalin O.D.. Heart Attack and many other local NYC bands.
